The Art Director position is responsible for conception as well as execution of creative work that aligns with a projects creative direction. Working collaboratively with clients, rich media developers, and account service team members, the Art Director is responsible for creating work that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but accomplishes client business objectives.
Art Directors are creative problem solvers whose primary responsibility is the development of creative concepts and storyboards for online rich media advertising executions. They should appreciate the challenges and opportunities in designing for interactive and are up-to-date on current trends and technologies, but are not required to code.
Reports to Director of Creative Services
Job Responsibilities:
-Responsible for producing innovative design solutions, specifically rich media advertising solutions that meet advertiser’s campaign goals.
-Execute all project deliverables on time, in a fast-paced, high energy environment
-Responsible for file optimization of graphic elements.
-Interpret client and peer feedback to drive design direction.
-Work closely with account team to ensure that creative executions support client business goals, as well as ongoing strategy for the account.
-Responsible for reviewing the work of supporting team members to assure that the execution is of the highest quality.
-Execute work that compliments, or integrates into an existing design framework while adhering to client style guides.
-Stays abreast of the latest software, and design trends.
-Participates in pitches for new business
Qualifications:
-A strong passion for the interactive medium
-Experience developing rich media, or traditional online banner ads
-Bachelor of Fine Arts, equivalent degree in commercial arts, or related field
-2+ years experience in a creative agency or similar (interactive focus is preferable)
-Thorough understanding of graphic design principles, including page layout, color theory, and typography
-Familiarity of web design principles such as user experience, usability, and accessibility.
-Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, ImageReady, InDesign)
-Capable of executing at a conceptual level, not hindered by technology limitations.
-Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Actionscript and other relevant web technologies is a plus
-Prior experience supporting national brands desirable
-Familiarity with Aftereffects and Premiere is a plus
-Online portfolio is a plus
