Junior C++ Software Engineer

Qualified candidates will participate on a project within a team of engineers involved in maintenance and development of voice and video software products, with responsibilities that may include any of the following:
• Assisting in the implementation of the solution
• Product maintenance
• Debug problems of moderate scope at the subsystem level
• Perform complex subsystem level unit, integration, and dev tests
• Identifying and resolving problems found during internal verification testing at customer sites
• Candidates must be able to assume complete responsibility for project tasks

But we set the bar high, here is what we expect:
• University degree in Computer Science and 1-2 years experience, OR 2-4 years experience developing commercially available applications
• Familiar with client/server development and network programming in a Windows or Linux environment
• Familiar with programming on a real-time, multi-threaded, software product
• Solid understanding of C++, Windows or Linux event-driven programming
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Open-minded for learning new technologies and processes
• Thinking outside of the box (finding creative and sometimes unusual solutions)
• Initiative in suggesting improvements in processes and the product
Following skills will be considered an advantage:
• Experience with audio or video applications a plus
• Solid understanding of application performance across multiple tiers or at the source code level is vital
